Meet Your Therapist: Kristie Fuller, LMHC
About me:
I love being a therapist. My favorite part is being a part of the journey as folks learn to live their lives like the bad-asses that they are! I specialize in using mindfulness techniques to help clients live their best lives. Working with me means you are looking to grow in emotional intelligence, deepen your self-awareness, maximize your self-love, and learn to live grounded in the present moment. I love authentic expression, including the speech I use, the color of my hair, and my tattoos. My hair is usually some color of the rainbow, and I have several visible tattoos (but no piercings). I wear jeans and tank tops most days, and I value comfort over style. I believe therapy should adapt to your unique needs. By maintaining a limited caseload, I offer flexible scheduling, extended sessions, and support between appointments, ensuring you receive the focused attention you deserve. MY THEORETICAL ORIENTATION Person-Centered Mindfulness-Based Practices Wellness/Holistic Approach Trauma-Informed Attachment As a pro-choice therapist, I am a safe person for clients to discuss body autonomy and reproductive health. I am not here to judge; I am here to support your journey. |
MY BACKGROUND
I received my Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in December 2018. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). My Florida license number is MH20191. Before opening my own practice, I had the absolute honor to work at an equine assisted psychotherapy facility as well as the pleasure of working with Hospice patients and their families, and at an in-patient crisis-stabilization hospital unit. I have worked in several different private practices as well as in community based mental health. My experiences include working with veterans, teens, young neurocomplex adults, and adults of all ages, including geriatric patients on hospice care. Some of the common diagnoses I have worked with included depression, anxiety, PTSD, and OCD. |
MY LIFE OUTSIDE OF COUNSELING
I have lived on the Space Coast of Central Florida for almost all of my life. I live with my geeky family including my wonderful husband and son. We always seem to own several cats and dogs. When I am not busy with work, I am usually reading. If I am not reading, I might be outside walking, hiking, or camping. If I am not reading or outside, then I might be playing video games with my friends and family or geeking out some other way, probably online. I have had a mindfulness meditation practice since 2009 and have regularly practiced yoga since 2017. I find an abundance of peace and calm by being outside in nature and feel grateful to live in such a beautiful area with access to the river and beaches. Most recently, my husband and I have become avid backpackers, going hiking and camping all over the state of Florida and beyond. Our goal is to one day hike the whole Appalachian Trail! |
